Election Integrity

Election integrity is a critical component of the American political process, and Americans in both parties support action to defend election security. Every American deserves to know that elections are being conducted fairly and honestly, with each vote counted as cast. Our voting systems should be ironclad and free from manipulation by vicious hackers seeking to delegitimize our government. OCC supports common sense steps to strengthen election integrity, including widespread use of paper ballots and post-election audits to verify results as accurate.

While the federal government has a role to play in supporting state and local election security initiatives, the Constitution provides that state and local governments ultimately have primary administration over their elections. Unfortunately, some politicians have exploited the election security issue in an attempt to rewrite election law and suppress political speech. OCC opposes efforts to federalize the election process.
